OLE and CAS Programme

Other Learning Experiences (OLE)

Since September 2009, all local Chinese secondary schools have been required to follow a new education policy, known as the New Senior Secondary (NSS) curriculum.  Under this policy, students are encouraged to broaden their academic portfolio to include Other Learning Experiences (OLE), which aim to promote lifelong learning and holistic development. Students can choose from five OLE categories: Moral and Civic Education, Community Service, Career-related Experiences, Aesthetic Development and Physical Development.

Creative, Action and Service (CAS) Programme

Similarly through the years, many students have come to volunteer for us through the CAS programme. These students have become a key part of KELY’s success, and their volunteerism keeps KELY running effectively. The student’s tasks range from office administration, fundraising and marketing, youth committee participation, workshop and project design, research and report writing, and artwork design for our promotional campaigns.

In response to the both requirements, KELY continues to provide an average of 10 yearly programmes whereby students can gain essential community-based experience such as circus training, leadership development, adventure-based training, community development, film production and playback theatre. Through such wide range of activities, we also aim to facilitate individual capacity-building in areas of problem-solving, critical thinking, resource planning and project coordination. If you are a student and are interested in fulfilling your OLE or CAS requirements through KELY, please contact us at:  contact@kely.org
